For the first time in Breckenridge’s robust history, iconic Main Street will close to vehicles and become a temporary, open-air pedestrian walking mall. Walkable Main Street will allow for breathing room in today’s normal and opens a new chapter for the downtown core.
Breckenridge’s vibrant creative community takes the arts outside this summer with safe, open-air cultural opportunities along the Town’s creative corridor intersecting Walkable Main from the Riverwalk Center to the Arts District Campus. Downtown guests can expect pop-up performances, demonstrations, workshops and great art in the great outdoors. Arts programming is produced in partnership with Breckenridge Creative Arts, Breckenridge Music, National Repertory Orchestra and Breckenridge Film Festival.
Pop-up performances by the National Repertory Orchestra, local musicians, storytellers and performance artists take place on the Riverwalk Center’s outdoor stage Wednesday through Sunday at the lunch and dinner hours. Grab a bite on Walkable Main or a drink from The Blue and enjoy a show while physically distancing on the lawn.
Outdoors@The Arts District
Find a table on the Arts District Campus and explore a mix of outdoor classes, open studios, live demonstrations and take-and-make activities with local artists in media such as painting, textiles, ceramics, metalwork and more. Creative opportunities happen outside on the Arts District next to the Robert Whyte House in the morning and mid-afternoon Wednesday through Sunday or register for outdoor and physically distanced class and workshop held throughout the summer.
