This year marks the 250th birthday of one of the most revered composers who ever lived: Ludwig van Beethoven, who was born in Bonn, Germany, in 1770. Beethoven wrote hundreds of piano sonatas, overtures and chamber pieces, but truly made his mark with his nine symphonies. Join Artistic Director & Conductor Steven Schick as he unpacks a 2019 archival recording of the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. The Zoom event features a conversation with Steve as he takes participants through this energetic piece of music movement by movement, answering questions and illuminating why Beethoven and his beloved, radical symphonies remain pillars of the classical cannon.
